The Getting Ready for Business – Information Leaflet has been prepared to provide you with templates, guidance notes and examples to help you on the way. You will also find posters that you can download, print off and use in your workplace along with links to Scottish and UK government information and articles from professional bodies.

Sectoral Guidance from Scottish Government

On the 26th May, the Scottish Government released new sectoral guidance for the Retail and Manufacturing Sectors to help them consider how people can safely return to work.  Updated guidance for the Construction sector will be published later this week.

The documents are among the first of a number of sector specific guidance that has been developed in consultation with business, trades unions and regulators. It aims to provide advice on essential equipment and services needed to create the conditions for safer workplaces.  We will keep publishing the guidance as it becomes available and will save on our web site for future reference.

The Operational Guide for Retailers is a useful tool for all sectors to look at and could be used in consultation with our Getting Ready for Business- Information leaflet which can be downloaded above.

Scottish Government’s – Route Map through and out of the crisis

The route map lays out information about the four phased approach to moving the country forward.

The plan is laid out in 4 Phases which slowly move the country back towards “the new normal”. As we receive updates and information we will forward it to you, but it is worth downloading the Route map and identifying in which if the four Phases your business is likely to reopen.

We have entered Phase 1 but there are no dates set for when we will move into the other Phases, these will be set by the government following extensive review of the situation.  The next official review date of the lockdown is set for the 18th June.

We have attached a copy of the route map here.

Opening the City – Have Your Say

We have been working closely with the Moray Council to look at how we can get the City back up and running as more businesses are allowed to open.  They have asked us to send this survey out on their behalf.

There are a lot of issues to be considered –

  • People queuing while they wait to enter a business
  • How people safely move while socially distancing
  • How we give confidence to customers and staff members
  • Can we utilise outside space to increase the trading area of businesses

The list is extensive, and it is going to be incredibly difficult to cover every eventuality, but the more we can plan and get things in place the better prepared we will be. The council has a duty to look at how the Moray towns can function while meeting government recommendations and restrictions but we have been working to ensure you have the chance to influence what happens.

A short survey is attached below, please take the time to complete this, it will not take long, but it will ensure your voice is heard.  You have a critical role in identifying solutions and helping us find innovative ways that ensure everyone gets the most from this difficult situation.
