New for 2022!
Coming to the Food & Drink Festival in partnership with the Moray & Nairn SWI is the Homemade Haven Tent!
The Homemade Haven Tent is an opportunity for anyone to participate in the Festival and showcase their talents.
The Homemade Haven ten will allow participants to compete in a variety of food-themed challenges before being judged by a SWI (Scottish Women’s Institute), similar to the activities seen at traditional Country Shows.
It’s simple to get involved! All you have to do is sign up for one (or more) of the categories listed below. Then bake/make/grow your entry and bring it to the tent between 10.30am-11.30am on the day of the Food and Drink Festival.
The judging will take place between 2 and 3 p.m., and prior to that, the tent will be open to the public for viewing all of the wonderful creations. The only rules for entering the tent are that no one touches or eats the entries, no matter how tempting it may be!

Categories you can take part in this year are as follows:
Children’s Challenge (16 years and below)
3 Decorated Biscuits in any theme.
(Biscuits can be pre-bought, judging decoration only.)
Cupcake Challenge
6 cupcakes to be decorated in any theme.
(Cupcakes can be pre-bought, judging decoration only.)
Jazzy Jams & Chutneys
Enter one or more of the following categories:
- 1 small jar of strawberry jam
- 1 small jar or raspberry jam
- 1 small jar of mango chutney
Wacky, Wonderful Veg
1 piece of homegrown veg that fits the ‘wacky’ veg category (we’re looking at you courgette 👀)
Please remember to write your name and contact information on the available paper before folding it over and attaching it to your entry when submitting it to the judging tent. Entries must remain anonymous (it’s only fair! ), so paper should be folded in such a way that your name is not visible to the public or judges.
This is an excellent way to participate in a fun day of Food and Drink celebrations; we can’t wait to see all of your fantastic entries!
