Elgin WorldHost DestinationWe are delighted to announce that Elgin has recently achieved the accolade of being a WorldHost Destination Status!

Being a WorldHost Destination will give a boost to tourism in the town and recognises good customer service across the businesses who have signed up to the scheme.

Elgin received the status after a number of businesses signed up to the programme and put at least half of their front line staff through the training, showing their business’s commitment to providing excellent customer service to both new and returning customers.

But, what Is WorldHost?

The WorldHost programme is, essentially, a customer service training package which is recognised the world over. It’s a great way for businesses to demonstrate that high quality customer service is important to them. As an industry benchmarked standard and it has been used to train over 200,000 people in the UK, including staff and volunteers at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

During the training employees learn:

  • How to make a good first impression.
  • Make customers feel welcome.
  • How to listen effectively in dealing with customers concerns.
  • How to “go the extra mile”.

The programme gives staff the skills and knowledge to deliver consistent and excellent customer service which, in turn, gives their business a strong and positive reputation. WorldHost trained staff are known across the world as providing high quality customer service and care.

WorldHost LogoIn an increasingly competitive business environment you need to work even harder to retain customers and win new ones. Through the training staff get to

  • Think about their own experiences of good and bad service.
  • Understand why their role has such an impact on a customer’s experience.
  • Learn vital communication and listening skills that will set them up for success.

It’s interactive, engaging, fun and most certainly not an exercise in “death by PowerPoint”!

We are confident that in the coming months more businesses will take advantage and get involved in the WorldHost programme and would encourage any firm who would be interested in training their employees in the values of great customer service to get in touch to find out about upcoming courses being run in the area.
